Fast and Effective Cavity Repair
When it comes to removing minor tooth decay and restoring the appearance of teeth, dental fillings are a standard procedure for achieving a beautiful and cost-effective result. Unlike noticeable silver tooth filling, a composite white material can be used to provide a virtually invisible look that strengthens and lowers risk for fracture.
Routine Dental Cleanings and Exams
At Giangreco Family Dental we believe the best defense against gum disease, tooth decay, and other oral health issues is continuous professional care and education. A professional cleaning is recommended at least every 6 months to ensure your teeth and gums are clean, healthy, and free of infection and decay. A routine cleaning appointment with our hygienist will consist of necessary x-rays, pre-cancerous screening, gum disease screening, along with a complete exam with the doctor. Studies show that unhealthy gums are directly related to cardiovascular disease, stroke, and diabetes. Our hygienists are trained to perform scaling and root planning services to reverse gum disease. We strive to provide optimal care to our patients to ensure a healthy mouth and body.
Endodontic treatment is needed when the nerve of a tooth is affected by decay or infection. In order to save a tooth, the tissue is removed and the resulting space is filled with special, medicated dental materials to help restore the tooth. Having a root canal done is the treatment of choice to save a tooth that otherwise would have to be removed.
Think of dental implants as man-made roots. When dental implants are placed, they bond with your natural bone. They become a sturdy base for supporting one or more artificial teeth, called crowns. A connector-known as an abutment-is placed on top of the dental implant to hold an support the crown. The crown is custom-made to match the natural tooth and fit your mouth. Modem dental implants have been used successfully for over 30 years. They are the strongest devices available to support replacement teeth and even better, they allow these new teeth to feel, look, and function naturally. Here at Giangreco Family Dental, our specialist Dr. Geminiani performs the initial phase of implant placement, followed by the restorative phase done by Dr. Giangreco or Dr. Park. The entire procedure can be completed here, in one office, for your convenience.
Single Visit Crowns
Unlike typical crown restorations, which require you to wear a temporary crown and return for a second appointment, CEREC restorations are created the same day right in our office. At Giangreo Family Dental, we are able to offer our patients the luxury of this time saving technology on a case-by-case basis. CEREC uses a state of the art 3D camera to create a digital impression of the affected tooth. This digital image replaces the physical impression required in tradition procedures, so you don’t have to wait while a tray of impression material hardens in your mouth. Using CEREC software, we will design every detail of you restoration with precise accuracy, ensuring the best possible fit. Dr. Giangreco also offers a variety of other traditional types of crowns.
Using dentures to replace missing teeth is not only great for your oral health; it’s a great way to look and feel younger. Our dentists offer a variety of different dentures; conventional dentures, immediate dentures, over-dentures supported by implants, and partial dentures. Schedule a consult with our doctors to find the one that works best for you.
Sedation dentistry is very effective for people with dental phobia or anxiety. At Giangreco Family Dental, our team of doctors will work with you to make your office visit as relaxing and pain free as possible. A sedative, such as an oral medication can be given to a patient to ease any fears and anxieties associated with their dental procedure. Dr. Geminiani is also certified in IV -sedation and can be used during oral surgery procedures such as implants or third molar extractions to put your mind at ease.
Bruxism, also known as clenching and grinding, can cause irreversible damage over time if not prevented. At out office, we offer bruxism appliances, such as Essix night guards, soft splints, NTI appliances, or sports guards. These appliances act to remind you consciously and subconsciously not to grind or clench your teeth. It does this by separating the teeth with a layer of plastic so that the teeth no longer fit tightly together. If you are concerned about whether you have the signs or symptoms of tooth bruxism, or if you need a splint or night guard made, our office can help better answer all of your questions or concerns.
